- Get the actual contact information for a person at the company, not just a general email from the site. It makes you look lazy and unprofessional.

 

- Don't assume in your email that they need your services. This makes you look arrogant and clueless.

 

- Avoid over producing and formatting your email. If you spend a lot of time making it look good it's clear right away that it's an advertisment and not an email someone NEEDS to read. It works against you, not for you.

 

- Don't tell people they have to "unsubscribe" if they didn't subscribe in the first place. This is rude, unprofessional, and you are just another email spammer.

 

- Use your real name and use your full name. Don't sign the email as "Chris" if your name is "Pradeep". Americans respect those that stand up for themselves and have a little self-respect. Some may reject your offer if you do this, but trust me, you don't want to do business with those people anyway.

 

- Don't spam. If you do, it says your SEO does-not-work!!! It can also get your web site hosting account closed if the spam is reported, and if that happens it would be very bad for business.
