I hate to post again and push down the title from my last post, but it's about time.

Check out www.searchenginedictionary.com for explanations of search engine and related terms. And if you find one that is not listed, let me know and I'll submit it to be added. Of course, I'll also take credit for submitting it.... but if you want to, you can fill out the form and submit terms yourself.

My favorites are:

traffic-death redesign
bloptimization
dynamic optimization
scored keyword phrase
URL conversion

NTS has a number of new projects that will be coming up in the next month or so. Some are for clients, but some are our own projects.

By the way, of you would like to sign up for our mailing list, which does not exist yet, send a message to webmaster@nielsentech.com. If the webmaster gets enough requests, I'll make him set up the newsletter like he promised to do last year...!

Send questions and comments and keep in mind that they may get published in the newsletter whenever that happens....

Google AdWords suck!!!!

Well, if you don't understand the system it does... I was struggling with a couple of Google AdWords accounts, and was not doing very well. I was getting keywords disabled and campaigns shutdown because of poor click through rates. However, I found what has turned out to be a very good resource to help me understand how AdWords is different from other PPC systems. I had read through all the Google Docs and it just did not make complete sense.

Also, there were some aspects that were "hidden". I guess you would call them "secrets" because they are counter to what you think you should do.

Anyway, I've got my click rates up pretty good now after having entire campaigns shut down about 3 times....!

AdWords is really pretty cool, if somewhat strict. Once you figure it out, you can really cruse and get better placement and clicks than others that are using higher bid amounts. Yup! Google rewards those that spend the time and create quality listings. More traffic for less money, why would they do that? Because they ROCK!! This book I found unlocks the way Google AdWords works and it doesn't take too much effort for it to work.

The book is called "21Ways to Maximize Profits on Google AdWords" by Andrew Goodman. It's 124 pages in PDF format. It's double-spaced, which is great because I did a lot of underlining and wrote quite a few notes as I was reading it. It's not a cheap book, but you can REALLY get a grip on your AdWords account quickly by spending a couple hours and reading it. It was easily worth what I spent on it and after using it and getting results, I would easily pay twice what I did! too bad you can't try it and then pay if you like it...!

If you are interested in the book that helped me, you can check it out here.

More to follow...
