The Better Business Bureau has received a customer complaint!
By admin on Nov 25, 2011 | In Email and Spam
After receiving the following email, I called the Better Business Bureau of Utah and the recording on their machine mentioned right away that many fraudulent emails have sent out with virus-infected attachments. I thought this email was real, but I know better than to click on any unexpected (or even some expected) attachments. I am posting the email here to warn others:

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your message. I didn't know so I did a search and found this:
"However, when the link is clicked, it releases a virus which will allow the creators to gain access into the company’s files."
http://www.globaltvedmonton.com/pages/story.aspx?id=6442528179
That may or may not be accurate, but if you clicked on the link for the .exe file you may be infected. It is possible that your anti-virus caught it before it could get started. I would contact the vendor of your anti-virus software and ask them.
Otherwise I would recommend getting an update and perhaps try a good online virus scanner like Trend Micro at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/. It's slow, but it has worked well for me in the past.
Sorry I can't be more help, but I have not researched the details.
Thank you,
